How do we use cookies & related technologies?

To enrich and optimize your online experience, TP Tools may use browser and mobile-based cookies, similar technologies and services provided by others to display personalized content, appropriate advertising, store your preferences on your computer, and track how you engage with our website. For example, TP Tools uses technologies such as Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. For details on these services, refer to “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services,” located at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Generic information about how visitors engage with our website may be collected by using various methods including:

  • Cookies - A cookie is a small data file, or string of information, that is placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit certain website such as TPtools.com. Cookies are used for various reasons including: counting visitors, identifying user preferences, and tracking navigation paths on the associated website. Cookies do not provide us with access to your computer or device, or any personal information about you. Although you may delete, disable or refuse cookies while visiting our website, please be aware that certain services or features may not be available or function properly without them. For example, you may not be able to add an item to your shopping cart or proceed to checkout, or use any TP Tools services that require you to sign into your online store account.
  • Web Beacons - A web beacon is a tiny, often-transparent graphic image that is placed on a website or in an email and used to monitor the behavior of the user visiting the website or receiving the email. Beacons are often used in combination with cookies.
  • Embedded Scripts - An embedded script is programming code that is designed to collect information about your interactions with a website (i.e. links you click on, length of time spent on a page, referring site, etc.). The code is temporarily downloaded onto your computer or device from our web server or a third-party service provider. These scripts are active only while you are connected to the websites, and deactivated or deleted thereafter.
  • Mobile Device Identifiers - Your mobile device information (e.g., device model, operating system version, device date and time, unique device identifiers, mobile network information).

How to manage your cookies

The Help feature on most browsers will tell you how to accept all cookies, prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, configure the browser to notify you when you receive a new cookie, or disable cookies completely. By continuing to navigate our website without changing your cookie settings, you hereby acknowledge and agree to TP Tools’ use of cookies and related technologies.

AUTOMATED INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect information collected automatically with information we already have about you in order to identify you as a TP Tools guest, and to improve your experience. If we are able to identify you as a TP Tools guest we may, for example, link your activity on our desktop website to your activity on one of our mobile applications. This allows us to provide you with a personalized experience regardless of how you interact with us – online, mobile, on phone, etc.

In order to provide the best guest experience possible, we also use automated information collection technologies for reporting and analysis purposes. We examine metrics such as how users shop on our website, on our mobile applications, and on our phone system, the performance of our marketing efforts, and your response to those marketing efforts.

TP TOOLS AUTOMATED COLLECTION

We and our service providers use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us or third parties that use our services. This information helps us recognize repeat users, customize their website experience, store items in their cart between visits and make our marketing messages more relevant. Examples of this information include but are not limited to pages you visit, ads you click on, type of browser/device/hardware, purchase information, IP based geographic location and search terms. These technologies also enable us to prevent fraud or other harmful activities.

We may also allow third-party companies to place tags on our digital properties. The tags may collect information from cookies placed by other third-party companies. Our privacy policy does not cover these third-party companies. Please contact these third-party companies directly for more information about their privacy policy and your choices regarding the tags and the information collected by the tags.

These third-party companies include, for example: Constant Contact, CardPointe, Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, PayPal, and Yotpo Reviews.

CROSS-CONTEXT AND CROSS-DEVICE IDENTIFICATION, ADVERTISING, PERSONALIZATION, AND ADVERTISING ATTRIBUTION

CROSS-CONTEXT - We may merge data collected from our own websites and mobile apps. Examples of the data collected by us or by third party companies include: cookie IDs, device Advertising IDs; transactions and browsing history; your interaction with our online and mobile advertisements, including advertisements we serve within our emails; information about ads we serve, such as which ad was served, your interactions with the ads, and the URLs where the ads are served from marketing partners such as Google; the email address we have on file for you; any registry information you have provided us; demographic and other information regarding your likely commercial interests from third parties; and telephone transaction data.

This combination of data enables us to see users’ and Guests’ online activity on TP Tools websites on desktop and mobile devices, and interactions with our online and mobile advertisements, to create a single set of information from all of the various contexts with which we or our partners interact with you, and to understand how well TP Tools’ advertisements perform in terms of translating to transactions online, on TP Tools’ phones and in store. It also helps us improve our users’ and guests’ experience by delivering more personalized advertising, including possibly email advertising, social media advertising, and paid search advertising, and helps us to create more personalized website and mobile experiences.

CROSS-DEVICE - We may also link your various devices so that content you see on one device can result in relevant advertising on another device. This allows us to deliver more relevant and consistent advertising to you (for example, if you purchase a product on our website using your desktop, we are able to avoid showing you an advertisement on the same product on your tablet. Instead, we may show you an ad on your tablet for complimentary products to the one you just purchased on our website). We also measure the performance of such ads and deliver information on advertising performance to our advertising partners in aggregate form.

How is your information used?

The Non-PII your browser sends us provides anonymous, statistical information that can be used to improve our website and services, enhance your shopping experience and keep the website secure. While most data collected via your browser is non-identifying, some data may be associated with you. The latter is treated as personal information.

For example, TP Tools may use your non-PII information to:

  • Understand your shopping needs and preferences and provide consistent, personalized services and experiences across our tech line, call center, catalog, store and website.
  • Resolve problems and improve our website, products and services.
  • Enhance your shopping experience.
  • Analyze trends and statistics.
  • Protect the security or integrity of our websites and our business.

We use the PII you submit to us to fulfill customer service functions related to your questions, catalog requests and shopping orders. TP Tools may also use your PII to send you promotional offers and to respond to other customer service issues (i.e. Back In Stock notice, Wish List reminder, etc.).

For example, TP Tools may use your PII information for:

These parties typically use a cookie, web beacon or other similar tracking technologies to collect this information.

Do-Not-Track Signals - Some browsers have a “do not track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. At this time, we do not respond to browser “do not track” signals, but we do provide you the option to opt out of interest-based advertising. To learn more about IBA or to opt-out of this type of advertising, visit the Network Advertising Initiative website and the Digital Advertising Alliance website. Options you select are browser- and device-specific.

Social Media - TP Tools engages with customers on multiple social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Google, YouTube, Yotpo). If you contact us on one of our social media platforms, request customer service via social media, or otherwise direct us to communicate with you via social media, we may contact you via direct message or use other social media tools to interact with you. In these instances, your interactions with us are governed by this privacy policy as well as the privacy policy of the social media platform you use.
